General Rules
-- The staff have worked extremely hard on Voices Of The Broken to make this site look gorgeous and provide a community of members who are active and happy. We ask that you respect our staff members and most importantly obey them. We also ask that the staff return the favour. Be kind to all the members that join this site and have no favoritism. We also ask that you are patient, calm and helpful to even the most frustrating of members.[/size]
-- There is no Power-playing [controlling someone else's character] or God-modding [stronger than anyone else's character] allowed on Voices Of The Broken This is unfair to other members who follow the rules and don’t make their characters indestructible or control another wolf. This also goes for having a character that is the fastest, prettiest, and anything else you can think of. If this rule is broken you will be severely punished.
-- We do not allow excessive amounts of swearing on Voices Of The Broken out of character. However, we do allow some swearing in character as it is a strong effect to show an 'evil' character but please don't go over the top.
-- We do not allow fighting on Voices Of The Broken out of character or in the C-Box you may take it over pm to get the issue resolved. Please remember that this site is for role playing meaning none of this is real life. If someone’s character is angry with your character then that member is not the one mad at you. There is no racism, harassment, or sexual comments of any kind are allowed as well. If I or a staff member sees any thing of this kind I or another Staff member will ban you from Voices Of The Broken and the C-Box.
-- There is no flooding, spamming or advertising on any of our boards and this includes the C-Box. The only board that allows advertising is the board. It is there where guests and members can advertise their role play sites. I also do not want to see a large amount of chat speak either. Words like; omg, lol, brb, bbl are allowed.
Account Rules
-- Account or display names are important because it is what other members call you out of character, but if you have a name like doggieluver200 or iluvhorses433 then members won't take you seriously. You could use a cool nick name or one of your character's names.[/blockquote]
-- We only allow one account per person. On your account you are allowed up to 7 characters, as long as you keep them active. If they fall inactive please either kill them in character or place them up for adoption.
-- Posting in the away post is essential. If you are going to be away for five days or more, please make sure to notify staff members by posting in the provided absence board. We don't want to penalize you for missing an activity check when you are only temporarily away.
-- No inappropriate avatars, signatures, or links to sites inappropriate sites. We also forbid signatures or images that stretch the boards. If I or a staff member see this, we will immediately go in and take down the image and send you a pm.
Character Rules
-- Before making your character check in the kennels to see if there is a puppy you like or want to adopt, it makes the game progress more as there will be 2nd/3rd generation pups around. It also makes it easier for the owners of the litters and yourself. Occasionally, I or another staff member will create a new wolf in the kennels to be adopted out so keep checking.[/blockquote]
-- Only wild wolves are allowed on Voices Of The Broken. No horses, cat, humans or dingo is to be created here. There are also no mythical creatures, this is a semi-literate wild wolf role play after all. Hybrids can be bought at the Shop, but you have to save up a lot of ¢redits or win a contest! Pictures used for characters that are any urban canines are banned, unless you bought or won a hybrid.
-- The personality of your character can either be general qualities listed in bullet form (but there must be seven) or you can write it out. The appearance of your character must be at least one hundred and fifty words long. There is a word counter here, so please use it. Please remember these wolves are living on the wild, so they are going to be under weight, maybe missing limbs and such. If you are inactive or gone without notice for more than two weeks and your biography is still not finished or unfixed then we will move it to Discarded Creations board. If you return and find your biography in the Discarded Creations board all you have to do is contact a staff member and they will move it back. When a character dies on Voices Of The Broken, in character, then we will move the biography to the graveyard.
-- Members are allowed to have seven characters, but they must keep all of them active. If you lost muse for a character or something then just put it aside for a while.
-- Character logs are not mandatory, but we highly recommend you having one. This helps you stay well organized and it also gives members a better look at your characters and what they think of their wolves. You can also add links to threads you are apart of, so you are never forgetting to reply and that saves members from nagging you. We also encourage posting in the Canine Classifieds board. By posting what your character is looking for, members can offer up their wolf to fill in those spots [friends, enemies, mates, etc.]. This helps you get active and saves you less of a hassle of trying to find members to get their wolves to be friends.
Role Play Rules
-- Members are allowed to use first or third person when role playing.[/blockquote]
-- We ask that all posts made in character boards are over two hundred words. If you do not exceed over two hundred words the other member replying is asked to not reply until it is fixed. Lyrics, poems and quotes can not be counted in the two hundred words.
-- Please use proper grammar and spelling when posting both in character and out of character. Pro-Boards has provided us with a thing called spell check. If possible, please use that. If not possible, please be careful about mistakes. Yes, everyone makes mistakes. We're not going to attack you if you spell a few words wrong or misuse a comma here and there. However, if your post is difficult to read because of spelling and grammar mistakes then you may be asked to fix it.
-- Liquid time is allowed on Voices Of The Broken. You can be up to four threads at once. Once the thread becomes inactive or dead it no longer counts as one of the four. If you are apart of a pack and a meeting comes up and you are already in four threads you are allowed to reply. This rule does not apply to Pack leaders.
-- No meta-gaming. This is when a character seems to magically know something about another character without ever having been told what they know. Basically, if a character is meeting another character that they have never met before then neither of those characters can know the other's name until they give their names in character. However, your characters can now the more famous characters on the game, such as pack leaders, reputable pack members or wolves well known in the woods.
-- If you intend a thread to be private, please make sure that you state so in the subject. If it is unmarked then it is assumed to be open to everyone.
-- Onto the subject of images. I do not mind you using personalized pictures, text headers, etc., but if you stretch out my board you are in trouble. This ruins are lovely boards and members have a hard time looking over your post. So please, if you are going to include a image in your post make sure it doesn’t stretch the boards.
Pack Rules
-- Wolves must be at least two years old in order to be a leader of a pack.[/blockquote]
-- Any wolf regardless of sex or breed is allowed to rule a pack.
-- Leaders make their own set of rules and rank their members. If a member disobeys a rule, then the leader is able to strip that wolf from its position and punish them accordingly. So, if you disrespect the leader your character must pay the price. Remember that ranks and rules differ from other packs. Each leader will also state how to join their pack.
-- All leaders are granted a one month immunity [4 weeks in real life]. Once their immunity is up then they are allowed three challenges, if they win all challenges, they are given another one month immunity.
-- You are allowed to challenge any of the four pack leaders, If you do PM me immediately. I will be judging all the fights that will decide with the fate of a pack, unless it is my own pack or challenging. Then my Co-Admin, will be the one deciding. The leader has a week to reply [unless they have posted in the leaving & returning board] or they forfeit and the challenger gets the pack. In your introduction post, I recommend you state what each dog receives if they are the victor [for example: they get to keep their pack or the challenger gets all of the members, the challenger can state if the will re-challenge if they lose, or if the challenger wins then the decide if the current leader remains in the ranks or leaves forever, etc.]
-- Immunity for territories is two weeks real time when you first take it over. Then you are no longer given immunity for that territory. Territories can be challenged by a leader of another pack, but two challenge per leader a year. The leader or pack member has five days to accept the challenge or they forfeit. All territories that were claimed by the leader are officially his/hers, even if they no longer are the leader of the pack. I will be the only one judging these fights as well. Unless I am apart of them.
Fighting Rules
-- You must PM a staff member when a fight is about to take place. We ask that you send us the link and the characters it is between. That way a staff member can monitor the fight and then judge at the end. Remember I judge all fights that deal with leadership for pack or gangs/territory control unless I am challenging or being challenged.[/blockquote]
-- Staff members judge on the quality of the posts, how fatal the injuries are, and anything else that is needed while role playing. We will not decide based on sex or breed. Any wolf can win.
-- During the fight each participant receives one dodge and two attacks. You can purchase extra attacks and dodges in the Shop.
-- Each member in the fight gets three posts. The first is a introduction, and the other two consist of your attacks and dodge. If more than two characters are fighting in a thread then you better wait until everyone has posted until you make your reply. You do not want to make a early reply and get stiffed on having five wolves attack you and you can’t do anything about it.
-- At the end of the fight the staff member that was asked to judge the fight will be giving out the wounds that each character receives, some advice and comments to each player, and then announce the winner. You character can not be killed, unless you decide that you want to.
Breeding Rules
-- Breeding season is in the spring.[/blockquote]
-- Both members must agree on their characters breeding before the thread begins.
-- Both males and females must be at least two years old before breeding. but may not be successful until 3 years old.
-- Graphic breeding. That is disgusting. Anything of this sort is a definite no! I will not allow descriptions like that on my site. If you wish to find a site that encourages graphic breeding, your not going to find it here. Instead of getting into detail you can black out, or simply just skip the scene. Basically, I want you to mount, and dismount. Nothing in between. If you must go through the breeding do it over PM. Thank you.
-- Females give birth in the Spring. Members will be given an aprox due date because I know sometimes members have issues and are not able to post on that exact day. Members also do need to post the birthing thread. They can just say they are born and start role playing with them.
-- Breeding is not always successful. Sometimes puppies can have problems that range from minor to major. It may include death, such as a still-born. Other times, the breeding will result of no puppies at all. It depends on what you get from a staff member.
-- Litters can range from one to six puppies. After the breeding is over you head on over to the Puppy Center board. One of the parents fills out the form that I have supplied. That parent will then fill out the form and post it in a new thread with the subject stating the characters names [Mothers Name x Fathers Name] or whatever else you want to call it. From there I or a staff member will decided the number of puppies you get, their genders, their health status, and we supply pictures for all the puppies born [in the Shop there are items that allow you to choose the attributes of a puppy]. From then on it is up to the parents to decided who gets which puppy. We recommend that you post the puppies attributes and picture of the puppy in the kennels, so that you can find owners for the rest of your puppies.
Season Rules
-- Each season is four weeks long in real life, which makes a full year four months real time.[/blockquote]
-- Members are asked to keep track of what year and season [for example: Spring Year 1] their wolves were created in. We ask that ever time it has been a year for your wolf on the game they will become a year older. This way I don’t see a wolf created in Summer Year 2 at two years old and then it is Fall Year 12 and your wolf is still two years old. Also keep updating your biography.
-- Staff will guide you along the first year of your puppies age and then it is up to you. We will have the age of the puppies, each year, on the weather section of our side bar.
